Juan Martin del Potro, the defending BNP Paribas Open champ, has withdrawn from the tournament

There will not be a repeating mens champion in Indian Wells in 2019 as 2018 victor Juan Martin del Potro has withdrawn from the BNP Paribas Open tennis tournament due to a knee injury.

The BNP Paribas tweeted the news on Wednesday.
