Celebrity chef Kerry Simon died Friday morning after his battle with MSA. He was 60 years old.

Simon was given the moniker “Rock and Roll Chef” by Rolling Stone magazine and appeared multiple times on Iron Chef. Simon opened a host of restaurants in Las Vegas, including Simon Kitchen & Bar at the Hard Rock hotel-casino, Carson Kitchen in Downtown Las Vegas, and KGB at Harrah’s.  Simon Kitchen & Bar opened at the Hard Rock Hotel in Palm Springs in the Fall of 2014.

Simon revealed in 2013 that he was suffered from a rare form of Parkinson’s disease called MSA, or multiple system atrophy. In February, it was reported Kerry was confined to a wheelchair and lost the ability to move or speak.

Today we not only remember those who lost their lives in 9.11; but we also grieve the loss of Chef Kerry Simon.
