Indio police asks public for help identifying vehicle involved in gang shooting

(Indio Police Dept.)

The Indio Police Department is asking for the public’s help in obtaining any information related to a vehicle that they say was involved in a shooting in front of a Circle K Sunday night.

Officers were dispatched to reports of a victim with a gun shot graze wound to the head at JFK hospital. The injury was non-life threatening and the victim was released from the hospital a short time later that evening, according to a Facebook post from the IPD.

Investigators determined that the victim was injured during a confrontation with rival gang members in front of the Circle K on Clinton Street. The suspects arrived in a grey colored Hyundai (possibly a Sonata).

The vehicle was occupied by at least one male driver and one female in the front seat, with a possible third and/or fourth subjects in the back seat. Police are requesting any help with identifying the driver and/or any passengers of this vehicle.

Anyone with information should call the Indio Police Department at 760-391-4057 or to remain anonymous call Valley Crime Stoppers at 341-STOP (7867).
