Idiot Attempts to “Run” on Water From Florida to Bermuda…Fails Miserably

A self-proclaimed ultra-marathoner thought it would be a great idea to “run” from Florida to Bermuda in an inflatable bubble – it was not.

Reza Baluchi, according to his website, wanted to encourage world peace by running across more than 190 recognized nations (yeah, because that is the only thing ISIS was waiting for?).

The US Coast Guard were first alerted to Baluchi on Wednesday after receiving a report about a man in a bubble off the coast of Miami. He was reportedly disoriented and asking for directions to Bermuda according to a Coast Guard press release said. It was not clear when he started his ridiculous quest.

Officials described his craft as a “hydro pod bubble” stocked with protein bars, bottled water, a GPS and a satellite phone. The Coast Guard, knowing this whole quest to be fucking stupid, asked Baluchi to quit his journey because he didn’t have enough supplies – but he refused.

This is the video of Baluchi’s dumb inflatable thing that was previously posted on his website:

The Coast Guard monitored his progress and on Saturday Baluchi activated his personal locating beacon because he was exhausted and had to be rescued (video below).

There were not reports of injuries.

“Part of his effort was to make world peace but he got caught up in the Gulf Stream,” said Coast Guard public affairs specialist Mark Barney.

And now world peace is lost forever.

Maybe in the future, we can just go ahead and leave the whole “walking on water” thing to Jesus.
