Hiker rescued near Painted Canyon in Mecca

A hiker was airlifted after being injured near the area of Box Canyon Road and Painted Canyon Road in Mecca on Sunday.

Rescue teams responded about 2:40 pm to the area. According to KESQ, the hiker was airlifted from the scene to a neaerby ambulance, and was then was taken to the hospital.

The hiker’s was treated for a moderate “lower extremity injury.”
