Hi-Desert couple sought after Twentynine Palms stabbing

Officials with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department are asking for the public’s help in locating a couple who they say fled from the scene after an 18-year-old was stabbed in Twentynine Palms.

Deputies were called to a home on Daisy Avenue a little after noon on Sunday. They determined that Cody Pangle, 25, of Joshua Tree, had gone into the home where the victim was visiting friends and attacked him, stabbing him on the left side of the chest, according to a news release.

The 18-year-old victim sustained serious injuries and was taken to Desert Regional Medical Center.

Pangle and Christa Thomas, 22 of Twentynine Palms, then fled the scene in a tan 1997 Toyota Corolla with a Montana license plate No. 399761B.

Efforts to locate the boyfriend and girlfriend have been unsuccessful, authorities said.
