Two women and a man died during the 2-day HARD Summer Music Festival held this past weekend in Fontana.

Police are investigating the cause, but spokeswoman for the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department Jodi Miller told the Press Enterprise that extreme heat could not be ruled out.

Two people died on Saturday and one on Sunday, according to police.

The festival, which attracted 146,000 attendees, was held at the Auto Club Speedway for the first time.

Last year, two teenagers died of drug overdoses at the festival – which was held at the LA County Fairgrounds in Pomona.

Update: KTLA reports that the three people who died have been identified as  Derek Lee, 22, of San Francisco, Alyssa Dominguez, 21, of San Diego, and Roxanne Ngo, 22, of Chino Hills.

The festival has released a statement, via LA Times:

“We were deeply saddened to learn about the deaths of three people who attended the festival this weekend,” Alexandra Greenberg, a spokeswoman for Hard Summer, said in the statement. “While the causes of the deaths have not yet been determined, we ask everyone to keep them in their prayers.  Our sincerest thoughts and condolences are with their family and friends.”
