Guy accused of stabbing his Vegas roommate arrested after hitchhiking to Thousand Palms

A man who police say fatally stabbed his roommate in Las Vegas was arrested in Thousand Palms on Friday.

Zachary Tait Drey was taken into custody at 4:47 pm at the Flying J gas station on Varner Road, reports the Desert Sun. It is not known why Drey came to the Coachella Valley or if he has any connections in town.

Police say Drey fatally stabbed his roommate, 25-year-old Clifton Taylor, on May 31. A relative of Drey told authorities he called them at 2:30 am and told they he had just killed his roommate, according to the Review Journal.

Xavier Morgan, a friend, told News 3 Las Vegas that Drew had issues.

“He just said he was pretty difficult to live with at times,” said Morgan. “He wouldn’t go into detail. He usually just shakes his head.”
