There is a ghost haunting an unlikely spot in Banning

Payless Shoesource Banning Ghost

Want to encounter a ghost on Halloween? Be sure to head on over to Banning’s discount shoe joint:

The ghost of a little boy has appeared in front of customers and employees at the Payless Shoesource on Highland Springs Avenue, according to Inside The IE.

According the legend, the little boy came into the store with his mom and wanted a pair of shoes really bad (no word on what shoes they were, but you and I know they had to be Air Jordans).  His mother didn’t buy the shoes for him (Jordans cost a ton).  The boy got upset, stormed out of the store and into the parking lot – where he was struck and hit by a car.

The ghost of the boy is said to appear when the store opens and closes.  Inside The IE  adds, the store has not kept employees for long because each time a new employee sees the apparition, they just quit without telling anyone.  Someone claiming to be an employee, backs up this claim:

Just started working in this store. I openned [sic] last Tuesday and when I went into the office found the office chair taken apart and upside down. Wheels were off. Back was off.

Kinda scary…but who knows, maybe when the ghost of the boy is old enough – he can cover for someone who needs a day off – seeing has how all of the employee’s legs must be tired from having to stand all day.
