Gang-related shooting at Cathedral City strip club leaves 3 hospitalized

A shooting early Wednesday morning at Showgirl’s Gentlemen’s Club in Cathedral City left three men hospitalized.

Three patrons were ejected from the club and the shooting happened in the parking lot following their exit at about 1:52 am, according to KESQ. Cathedral City Police Chief Travis Walker said the shooting was gang related during a press conference.

“When you have embers another community come to businesses in your city, there’s not a lot we can do. We don’t have control over the gang activity in other communities that spill over into our city,” said Chief Walker. “The best we can do is educate our businesses on what to look for and how to properly deal with it. And we hope that businesses that are regulated by other state and federal establishments are abiding by those rules so that we can minimize these types of events.”

Two 29-year-old males from Indio are in stable condition. A man in his late 20’s from Coachella is in grave condition.

Update: KMIR reports that 24-year-old Jason Rosas died at the hospital Wednesday.
