Driver arrested after traffic stop turns up cocaine, scale, cash in Yucca Valley

A San Bernardino man was arrested on Friday after police say he was found in possession of 9 grams of cocaine, cash, and drug packaging materials during a traffic stop in Yucca Valley.

A deputy with the San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department pulled over a Chevy Tahoe for a vehicle code violation in the area of Church Street and State Route 62. The vehicle was being drven by Jose Chaidez of San Bernardino, according to a news release from the sheriff’s department.

During the stop, Chaidez was found to have active misdemeanor warrants for failure to appears and during a vehicle search, approximately 9 grams of cocaine were located along with drug packaging materials, a digital scale, and approximately $800 in cash.

Chaidez was arrested for transportation of a controlled substance and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail without incident.
