Desert X announces 2019 artists

Desert X launches its highly anticipated second round on February 9 with 19 art installations in and around Palm Springs and the Coachella Valley (and all the way out to the Salton Sea). The featured artists for the event were announced Monday.

The 2019 Desert X artists include:

  • Iman Issa

  • Cinthia Marcelle
  • Postcommodity
  • Cara Romero
  • Sterling Ruby
  • Kathleen Ryan
  • Gary Simmons
  • Superflex

Exact details of the installations are not yet known, but the LA Times notes that it will include a giant pink aluminum structure by Danish collective Superflex, a 20-foot long fluorescent orange monolith by Sterling Ruby, and a solar-powered marine science lab by Chris Taylor and Steve Badgett.

Locations where the installations will be located will be announced on the first day of Desert X – February 9.
