The Desert Oasis Festival is taking place this weekend at the Empire Polo Field, the site of Coachella and Stagecoach, in Indio with performances by Damien Marley, Reel Big Fish, E-40, Los Lobos, and more. Here’s what it’s like inside the fest.

The setup is a little different than Coachella and Stagecoach starting with the fact that you park near the entrance rather than having to walk a few miles like the other fests.

The layout has two main stages across from each other with some art, vendors, and plenty of grass in between.

Here’s the main stage:

From a bit further back…

Now, let’s turn around to see the other stage…

There is also a third stage tucked away in the southeast corner.

Since we are cruising around the festival, the northeast corner – where the lake on the property is – traditionally is off limits to the non-VIP crowd during the April fests…

…but at Desert Oasis you can check it out and enjoy a rum drink as they have set up a tiki bar.  It’s not as difficult to find as the one that popped up at Coachella, but you it is still a bit out of the way.

There are three drinks on the menu…

All are made with rum…And the come with a bonus umbrella…

Best of all, it’s shaded!

The art at the fest consists of the Empire Polo lions converted to Rasta lions…

From another angle…

And yes, one is smoking a joint.

There is also a huge stack of storage containers…

And this one called, “The Upside Down”…

And the spot where everyone will take their Instagram selfies.

Someone is clearly planning on taking some naps during the fest…

And, if you go, be sure to load up on free stuff.

I am now the owner of some new sunglasses and stackable wine glasses, so I have that going for me, which is nice.

I am also not feeling bad that i forgot my Hula Hoop at home anymore.

How is your day at the fest? Let’s discuss in the comments.
