Dehydrated hiker rescued from Araby Trail in Palm Springs

A hiker was rescued on Friday morning after becoming dehydrated on a Palm Springs hiking trail.

A 9-1-1 call for a hiker in distress on the Araby Trail came in to dispatchers about 8:20 am, according to Palm Springs Mounted Police Search and Rescue. Officials hiked up the trail and gave aid to the hiker, who was then hoisted and airlifted to safety.

The hiker was then transported to a local hospital for further treatment.
