Comedian Ralphie May dead at 45

Ralphie May has died at 45, reports the Hollywood Reporter.

The comic had been on a national tour and had apparently been battling pneumonia, causing him to cancel a few dates over the last month. The cause of death was preliminary reported to be cardiac arrest.

May rose to prominence after finishing second on the first season of Last Comic Standing. He had four specials on Comedy Central — “Girth of a Nation” (2006), “Prime Cut” (2007), “Austin-tatious” (2008), and “Too Big to Ignore” (2012) — in addition to two Netflix specials in 2015, “Unruly” and “Imperfectly Yours.”
