As of 1 pm Sunday, Riverside County officials have confirmed 1,619 people have tested positive for COVID-19.  There have been 41 confirmed deaths in the county.

As of 8 am Saturday, San Bernardino County has confirmed 810 cases of COVID-19.  There has been 25 deaths in San Bernardino County.

As of 1 pm Sunday, there have been 22,583 confirmed cases of COVID-19 in California.  There have been 640 confirmed deaths in the state.

Will things be more normal in the fall? Dr. Anthony Fauci was asked that this morning and responded that he hopes so, but warned there could be a rebound:

 

More than 3,300 deaths nationwide have been linked to coronavirus outbreaks in nursing homes, up from 450 just 10 days ago, according to The Associated Press. The AP has kept its own running tally based on media reports and state health departments because the federal government is not releasing a count of its own.

Researchers are trying to determine when COVID-19 arrived in California as new signs suggest it was here earlier than anyone knew, reports the LA Times.

The Desert Sun looks into why California wasn’t more prepared for the coronavirus.

Riverside County health officials are looking for medical worker of any kind to volunteer:

British Prime Minister Boris Johnson is out of the hospital.  He took time to thank the medical staff, including two nurses who stood by his bedside for two days “when things could have gone either way.”

Joe Biden provided the New York Times with his “Plan to Safely Reopen America.”
