After news of Coachella postponing until the fall due the coronavirus was released Tuesday, Tesla's CEO Elon Musk decided to take to Twitter to rip on the fest. It didn't go well.
It has become official: The 2020 Coachella and Stagecoach Music Festivals have been rescheduled for the fall.
With the spread of coronavirus, large events in the desert are being forced to cancel. Reports are that, rather than simply pull the plug, both the Coachella and Stagecoach festivals may be looking to move to the fall in 2020 (update: it's happening). While this would be welcome news to both attendees and local businesses in the Coachella Valley, it would also mean some changes are likely.
So you know that gross feeling you have in your gut. The one that says since the tennis tournament has already been cancelled due to the coronavirus, that Coachella and Stagecoach might not be too far behind? Obviously, the events are cool, but the economic impact to the Greater Palm Springs area are huuuuuuuuge and, well, none of us want to think about an April with a giant festival in Indio for the first time in 20 years. Well, my friend, there is a glimmer of hope.

As coronavirus fears grow (and hand sanitizer supplies dwindle), many have been asking if large events like Coachella and Stagecoach will still be happening this year. On Thursday, county officials held a press conference to let the public know that the shows will still go on...well, as of now anyway.
Chella, a one-day fest taking place at the Riverside County Fairgrounds in Indio in between Coachella Weekends, will return for a third year with Cuco and Chicano Batman as headliners.
