Cat Holds SoCal Woman Hostage – 911 Called

Chula Vista police officers responded to a 911 call at 4am Tuesday morning.  The call was from a woman who was being held hostage by her pet: Cuppy the cat.  ABC 10 reports:

According to Chula Vista police, a woman and her adult daughter called 911 at about 4 a.m. to report that they had barricaded themselves inside a bedroom in the 4000 block of Neptune Court because their cat would not let them out.

They told emergency dispatchers that when they tried to exit the room, the cat became furious. Officers responded and tried coaxing the cat, named “Cuppy,” by softly calling it, until it eventually walked out on its own.

Cuppy has been the family’s pet for 14 years.  Those days may be numbered, however, as ABC 10 reports “a very difficult decision” was going to have to be made at the veterinarian’s office.
