Good news for fans of MMA in the Greater Palm Springs area: Spotlight 29 Casino is hosting an ultimate viewing party for UFC 220, featuring a Heavyweight Title Fight between champion Stipe Miocic and No. 1 ranked Francis “The Predator” Ngannou on Saturday, January 20 at 7 pm.
The broadcast will be shown in Hot Spot and Groove on a first-come, first-served basis for guests 21 years or older.
Born in Euclid, Ohio, Miocic (17-2-0) successfully defended his championship twice, tying the Ultimate Fighting Championship record with Randy Couture, Tim Sylvia, Brock Lesnar and Cain Velasuqez. He is currently ranked No. 6 pound for pound in the UFC.
Ngannou (11-1-0), a Cameroon native, holds the record for highest punching power ever measured for the UFC. He faced Alistair Overeem this past December at UFC 218, winning the bout with a first round knockout that was called the knockout of the year by ESPN.
The UFC 220 Main Card also includes a Light Heavyweight Title Fight between champion Daniel “Doc” Cormier (19-1-0) and No. 2 ranked Volkan “No Time” Oezdemir (15-1-0); Calvin Kattar (17-2-0) vs. Shane “Hurricane” Burgos (10-0-0); Gian Villante (15-8-0) vs. Francimar “Bodao” Barroso (19-5-0); and Thomas “Thominhas” Almeida (22-2-0) vs. Rob Font (14-3-0).
