A body was discovered Saturday afternoon near a Palm Springs hiking trail.
Members of the Palm Springs Mounted Police Search and Rescue team were called to search, locate, and recover a possible dead body about 2pm somewhere off trail in the Palm Springs mountains, according to a Facebook post from the team.

Crews located the body and the Riverside County Coroner responded to the scene. The body was eventually transported down the mountain.
There were no further details released.
