Bobby Mao’s has closed their location at the Westfield Palm Desert.
Employees found out this morning when they showed up for work, sources tell Cactus Hugs. An employee with the mall confirmed the closing of the restaurant.
Bobby Mao’s opened as part of the Westfield Palm Desert’s revamped main entry, along with Stuft Pizza, in 2014.
The closing follows shutdowns by other sit down restaurants at the mall, including the recent closure of O’s American Kitchen and the 2016 shuttering of Richie’s American Diner.
Bobby Mao’s had a 3.5 out of 5 average rating after 212 reviews on Yelp.
They closed because they refused to pay their employees for the last 2 weeks
Too bad. They had great food. I always felt bad for them being right across from Stuft Pizza. Stuft always had a line out the door while Bobby’s had hardly any customers.
Yes, Kayla, my partner has been stiffed by them and we would be interested to chat with other employees to go after the back wages.
Easy to make money at a new location off the backs of employees.
