Artist behind the Desert X Virtual Realty installations to give free talk on Sunday

Two of Desert X 2019’s most talked about installations, Revolutions and Margin of Error, will give a free artist talk this weekend to discuss the virtual reality pieces.

Nancy Baker Cahill will outline her practice and speak about her unique pieces at the Clubhouse at the Ace Hotel & Swim Club on Sunday, Feb. 24 from 5 to 7 pm.

Cahill’s Desert X installations use augmented reality, producing a unique, singular experience for each viewer due to the ever-changing conditions of the desert. Her Palm Springs installation, Revolutions is set against the iconic Palm Springs windmills, while Margin of Error can be seen at the Salton Sea.

Both pieces can be seen through your smartphone by using a special app (that you should really download before you get there – you can get that info and everything you need for seeing Desert X with our handy dandy guide here).

The Sunday talk is free, but you need to register for it. You can do that here.
