A 55-year-old man from Anaheim was hit by a car on Highway 62 on Thursday afternoon just minutes after he was thrown out of the Joshua Tree Saloon.

Christopher Moline was ejected from the bar at about 4 pm for drunk and disorderly behavior, reports Z107.7. Witnesses told police that he then stood in the bike lane of the highway making obscene gestures at vehicles before stepping into traffic and being struck by trailer being towed by a Chevy.

The driver of the truck told investigators he didn’t think he had hit the man, according to the Hi-Desert Star. The driver told police he saw the Moline flipping him off and when he looked in the rear-view mirror after passing him, Moline was still standing in the bike lane.

Moline was taken to Desert Hospital with non-life-threatening head injuries.
