A man not wearing any clothes was arrested in Palm Springs on Friday after police say he struck a motorcyclist and then a fire hydrant.

Police say that a little after 8 pm, a man driving a Hyundai Elantra sideswiped a motorcyclist on South Palm Canyon and Ramon, then fled, according to a news release.

The motorcyclist was not injured.

A group of other motorcyclists followed the Hyundai to Palm Canyon and Camino Parocela, reports the Desert Sun.  It was there that the suspect crashed into a hydrant, which flooded the street.

“It was surreal,” Palm Springs resident Michael Harold, told the newspaper. “There was already a lot going on with the crash and police, but suddenly I’m seeing a butt.”

Mark Anthony Scott, 31, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs or alcohol, parole violation and hit and run.

The Desert Sun found court records that show Scott has 11 convictions during the last 10 years, including burglary, drug possession, spouse abuse, and a restraining order violation.
