Agua Caliente Casino Rancho Mirage is now hosting video game tournaments

360 Sports Bar at Agua Caliente Casino

The new 360 Sports Bar at the Agua Caliente Resort Casino Spa Rancho Mirage is a pretty rad place to check out a game on one of their giant TVs, but it appears that it is also a cool spot to play games on one of their giant TVs.

The property begun hosting “eSports After Dark” tournaments a few weeks ago – giving guests a chance to play Smash Bros, Mortal Kombat and more on the big screens – and have a chance to win cash and prizes while enjoying a drink and some bar food.

Brian Bork, the casino’s senior director of marketing, told the Press Enterprise that Agua Caliente saw that esports were big in Vegas and thought it would be wise to bring them to the Greater Palm Springs Area.

“Esports is certainly one of the next evolutions, if you will, of gaming that is slightly different than obviously what happens on the casino floor, but it’s still a form of gaming and a form of engagement and for us, we’re all about customer engagement,” Bork told the newspaper.

Playing the games is free, but all guests have to be over 21 to play. The tournament is taking this week off, but will return on Wednesday, August 7 at 8 pm.
