Thousands of RVs are rolling into The Coachella Valley signifying that it is once again time for The Stagecoach Country Music Festival. As a Coachella Valley resident, you may end up at the honky tonk jamboree even though you are not a fan of country music (say, hypothetically, your hot wife really likes country music and drags you out there…you know, hypothetically). So what is a non-country music fan supposed to do to survive all the yee haw? Here are 6 tips:
1) People watching
People watching at Stagecoach can be amazing. And I am not just talking about the good looking cowboys and cowgirls that are on hand. There are also a ton of people who run around yelling “Ragecoach” all day while always finding new ways to illegally desecrate the American flag by turning it into ugly clothing. Many also forget or refuse to wear sunscreen which leads to some amazing sunburns on Day Two and Three of the fest.
2) Enjoy the BBQ
Guy Fieri has once again brought out a ton of great BBQ joints from throughout the country for you to scarf on (the lines can get long later in the day, so try early) and, if you’re not into BBQ, there’s always Spicy Pie!
3) Go for a spin
Toyota is always out with professional drivers who will take you for a spin (literally) for a few minutes.
4) Get all the free things
There are so many freebies to be had.
Yup, there is beer and, in recent years, it’s more than just Budweiser! Grab an IPA, find some shade, and enjoy the people watching.
6) Tom Jones
Yeah. Tom Jones is playing Stagecoach, people! What’s new pussycat? Well, we should find out this weekend! Other not-completely country acts you might want to check out include Lynyrd Skynyrd, Brett Michaels, and *checks notes* Diplo. No seriously.
Update: Lil Nas X will also perform – which should be an awesome 2 minutes and 37 seconds.
