A development of luxury homes surrounding a surfing lagoon is moving forward in Thermal

The Riverside County planning commission unanimously approved plans for a luxury home development in Thermal on Wednesday, reports the Desert Sun. The 326-unit development would include a pool, clubhouse, bar, and a 21-acre surf lagoon that would be built on what is currently known as Kohl Ranch.

The proposed Thermal Beach Club would be located near the Thermal Club, a walled-off racing resort with million dollar homes surrounding a racetrack.  The new development would include 210 resident lots, which would accomodate 326 units, that would surround a giant lagoon built with a system to simulate ocean waves – giving potential homebuyers the chance to feel like they are living on the ocean all while experiencing the joys of 120-degree temps.

No word yet on a timeline for the project.
