Two juveniles were arrested after firing a gun into the air during a beer run at the Dollar General store in Desert Hot Springs.

The robbery attempt happened at 8:20 p.m. on Sunday night, reports The Desert Sun. An employee spotted one of the suspects in the back of the store holding a pack of beer which led to a brief confrontation – during which one of the suspects fired a gun, according to Desert Hot Springs Police.

No one was injured and the suspects fled. Police tracked them down the next day, arrested them, and took them to Indio Juvenile Hall, according to authorities.  The suspects were not named as they are under 18-years-old.

Police say that there has been a recent increase in beer runs by juveniles at that Dollar General location, on Palm Drive.
