6 Things to Do This Weekend (That Are Not Stagecoach or White Party)

The Coachella Valley plays hosts to 2 huge gatherings this weekend. There is Stagecoach in Indio and The White Party in Palm Springs. But, there is no need to fret if either event is not really up your alley.

FRIDAY

Free Journey Tribute Concert

Spotlight 29 Casino kicks off their Free Friday Tribute Concert Series with Journey Unauthorized. The free show starts at 8pm, doors open at 7, and you have to be 21 or over to attend.

See The BoxTrolls Movie

Visit La Quinta presents a free screening of The BoxTrolls at Adams Park. You are invited to bring your low-back lawn chairs and blankets (yup, it might actually be a bit brisk in The Desert Friday night) to enjoy the flick on a 20’ inflatable movie screen. The screening will get started at 8pm.

Margaret Cho brings her stand up comedy to Morongo Casino Resort and Spa for a 9pm Friday performance. Tickets will set you back $40 – $55.

SATURDAY

The Rock Yard

This week, Fantasy Springs outdoor concert series welcomes Mötley Inc., a tribute to Mötley Crüe. The free show starts at 7:30pm, runs through midnight, and is for those 18 and over.

Earth Wind & Fire

Also performing Fantasy Springs Resort Casino Saturday is one of America’s top-selling musical group of all-time, Earth, Wind, & Fire. The Rock and Roll Hall of Famers perform at 8pm at The Special Events Center. Tickets are $49 to $79.

Scotty McCreery

Former American Idol winner Scotty McCreery heads to Morongo Casino Resort and Spa Saturday night. The country singer takes the stage at 9pm. Tickets are $50-$65.
