5 Things to Do in Greater Palm Springs This Weekend

The weekend is here and you have plenty of options to choose from in Greater Palm Springs for entertainment – with everything from charity 5ks to 7-foot-tall boxers to lots and lots of beer.

Here are 5 options for the weekend of February 27th – March 1st:

Boxing With “The Seven-Foot Dong”

Taishon Dong
There are quite a few fights happening at Fantasy Springs Casino Friday night – but the big reason to go (I mean this literally) is Chinese heavyweight Taishan Dong. Dude is huge! I am talking 7 feet tall!!

Some call him “The Great Wall” and others actually call him “The Seven-Foot Dong” (!).  Here is a video of him in action:

Dong takes on Roy McCrary Friday night.

Party with a Bunch of Hosers, Eh

canada day

Because The Desert does not kiss the asses of Snowbirds enough, Canada Fest is a thing that is actually going to happen this weekend.

Food, drinks, and products from Canada are promised to be on hand (isn’t that just Seagram’s and maple syrup?) plus music and seminars (ooooh, how fun).

Not wasting time listing info here, since I know you are not going to Canada Fest.

Actor (and awesome human being) Patrick Warburton hosts The Inaugural Warburton St. Jude 5K at The Classic Club in Palm Desert. In addition to running, jogging, walking, strolling, etc. – there will be live entertainment, prizes, a kids’ zone, and (best of all) a beer garden!

Everything benefits St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, which is cool and really deserves a high 5!

Have fun this weekend!
