The weekend is here yet again!

This week’s offerings include pool parties, dinosaurs, and lots & lots of lavender:

The Hilton, Saguaro, and (totally not in the news) Hacienda in Palm Springs play host to the first weekend of Splash House (there will be another, most likely hotter, weekend in August). Bakermat and Cashmere Cat are your headliners (You can see the entire lineup here).  A wristband for the weekend runs $115.

1970s Rock

FramptonCheap-640

Relieve the 70’s with Peter Frampton and Cheap Trick – as they head to Fantasy Springs Resort on Saturday night for an 8 p.m. show. Tickets will set you back $49 – $89.

Ladies Night

Al B. Sure, Jon B, and Ginuwine will be at The Show at Agua Caliente Resort playing just for the ladies on Saturday night (wait, I am now being told that men can go to “Ladies Night” as well, despite what the name of the concert would have you believe). The 8 p.m. Saturday show has tickets available for $35 – $65.

Lavender All The Things

Lavendar

See lavender, smell lavender, eat lavender…as it is all things Lavender at Highland Springs Resort in Cherry Valley. The Lavender Festival takes place Saturday and Sunday with music, food, and (surpise!) lavender.   Admission is $7.

Jurassic World

Jurassic World

Star-Lord and Opee’s daughter star in the reboot of the dino-series (looks like those darn dinosaurs got loose again!). The film is actually getting solid reviews and you do get the bonus of being in someone else’s air conditioning for 2.5 hours! (note: if you really like flicks, you might want to check out Movie Pass, you get to see as many as you want for just $30 a month).

Have fun!

Stay cool.
