Congrats on making it to the weekend!  Here are five things going on in the Coachella Valley for you to enjoy after you enjoy your Friday evening free booze and small plates.

Bill Murray

Bill Murray is here.  In the desert!  In fact, he may even be reading this right now!!  Okay, doubtful.  But, he is performing at the McCallum along with cellist Jan Vogler on Saturday night.  The two are set to perform a program that celebrates Murray’s love for classical music and will include readings of Hemingway, Capote and Mark Twain.  Tickets are priced between $57 to $107.

The Empire Polo Field hosts the inaugural two-day festival Saturday and Sunday at the Empire Polo Fields.  We learned a bunch about the fest over here.  The event will include performances by Damian “Jr. Gong” Marley, Rebelution, The Green, Steel Pulse, Los Lobos, E-40, Reel Big Fish, Warren G, and more.  Tickets start at $99 for a one-day pass or $175 for both days.

This month is filled with filled with Oktoberfests – which is great news if you love beer, brats, and doing the Chicken Dance.  Casino Morongo hosts theirs this Saturday and it looks like they have plenty of beer.

The event runs noon to 6 pm and is outdoors (so dress appropriately as this weekend is gonna be a hot one).  Tickets are $20, but the site is offering a 2 for 1 special.
