44 pounds of meth, stolen gun found in Camry pulled over near Palm Springs

Police seized 44 pounds of methamphetamine after discovering it during a traffic stop on the eastbound 10 Freeway early Friday morning near Palm Springs.

A CHP officer pulled over a 2016 Toyota Camry after seeing it travel over 100 mph east of Indian Canyon Drive at about 1 am, reports the Desert Sun.

A search of the car turned up the drugs along with a stolen, loaded handgun.

The vehicle’s driver, 62-year-old Sergio Peregrina of Bell Gardens, was arrested on suspicion of transportation of drugs, possession of a stolen handgun and driving with a suspended license.
