Police are investigating after a Los Angeles woman and her dog were found dead in a car in the parking lot of a Coachella gas station on Tuesday.

Jennifer Shapiro-Renaud, 36 of Los Angeles, and the dog were found at about 6:30 p.m. at the Love’s travel center, reports the Desert Sun. She was pronounced dead at 6:39 p.m.

Police are investigating and do not suspect foul play.

A sheriff’s spokesman told the newspaper that it’s too early to say if high temperatures played a role.
