29 Palms driver punched, carjacked, left in middle of desert, say police

Police are investigating after they say three or four men got into a car, punched the driver in the head then left the driver in the middle of the desert while they drove away.

The victim, who was not named, was driving on Daisy Avenue near Highway 62 with their windows down around midnight, according to Z107.7. The driver says they were approached at a stop sign by three or four men who forced their way into the vehicle and then punched the side of the victim’s head several times.

The men then forced the driver to take them to an unknown area of the desert before ordering the victim out of the car and driving away.

The victim also says that the men stole their wallet and cell phone.

No information on the suspects was released. Anyone with info should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
