20-year-old arrested in Desert Hot Springs for shooting man in Banning

A 20-year-old man was arrested on Tuesday in connection to a shooting that took place in Beaumont earlier this month.

Police were called to North Eighth Street about 1 pm on April 5, according to the Banning Police Department. Officers found a man suffering from a single gunshot wound. The victim, whose name was not released, survived and was taken to the hospital to be treated for his injuries.

Witnesses told police they saw a man dressed in all black carrying a handgun fleeing from the scene.

On Tuesday, Banning police and members of the Riverside County District Attorney’s Office Gang Impact Team arrested Mathew Clay Fisher on Fifth Street in Desert Hot Springs, reports City News Service (via Patch).
