New Year’s brings not just one, but two DUI checkpoints to The Coachella Valley.
One checkpoint, will be conducted by authorities New Year’s Eve in Palm Desert (at an undisclosed location…as they always are) from 8 p.m. through 3 a.m. Thursday.
The second checkpoint will be conducted by The California Highway Patrol on New Year’s Day (also at an undisclosed location in The Coachella Valley), and will last from 7 p.m. through 3 a.m.
As New Year’s Eve can be quite the night for partying, drivers should be careful of impaired drivers on Coachella Valley roads. The Palm Springs Buzz shuttle will be in service tonight and free cab rides will also be available from 10:30 p.m. Wednesday through 3 a.m. Thursday as part of the Home Safe Program.
