A teenager is dead after a single-vehicle crash early Friday morning in Cathedral City.
The Cathedral City Police Department was called to Vista Chino and Landau Boulevard a little after 2 am, according to The Desert Sun. They found a 2019 Toyota Supra that had crashed into a traffic signal at the intersection.
19-year-old Cathedral City resident Isaac Gallardo was pronounced dead at the scene. The vehicle’s passenger, a 20-year-old cathedral woman was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released.
Police say that speed and fatigue may have played a factor in the crash. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to have played a role.
