Police arrested a 26-year-old Coachella man on Friday who they say was in possession of drugs, assault weapons, and ammunition.
Alfredo Barajas was arrested on Avenue 42 in Bermuda Dunes, according to the Desert Sun. Police seized three AR-15 rifles, seven handguns, two 100-round drum magazines, 16 pounds of methamphetamine and heroin, packaging for narcotics sales, and $35,000 in cash.
Authorities served search warrants in Coachella, La Quinta and Bermuda Dunes as part of the operation, which began as an investigation into an armed robbery in Indio.
