10,000 rounds of ammo, guns, body armor seized in Coachella

A search warrant served on Tuesday in the city of Coachella resulted in the seizure of weapons, 10,000 rounds of ammunition, body armor and more.

The Coachella Valley Violent Crime Gang Task Force, with the assistance of Riverside County Sheriff’s Department SWAT, served a firearms related search warrant on Calle Bonita, according to a news release. During the service of the search warrant, Gang Task Force Officers seized six rifles, one revolver handgun, approximately 10,000 rounds of ammunition (including armor piercing rounds), two sets of body armor, approximately 50 thirty-round AR-15 magazines, and a milling drill used in the production of rifles.

No arrested were announced. The investigation is ongoing.
