Things to do in April in Palm Springs

Okay. I know. April in the Coachella Valley is totally consumed by the Coachella and Stagecoach music fests – what with the 100s of thousands of people coming to the Greater Palm Springs area, the parties, the traffic, and, oh, yeah, the actual concerts. But, there is a bunch of other stuff going on too. So let’s get to the things to do in Palm Springs in April 

LPGA ANA Inspiration | April 1 – 7

The month tees off with the annual tournament at Mission Hills in Rancho Mirage. The best women golfers will compete for a $2 million purse and a chance to jump in to Poppie’s Pond.

Something Rotten | April 5 – 7

The Broadway smash hits the McCallum for five shows in three days. Tickets will run you $65 to $125.

Atlanta Rhythm Section and Firefall | April 6

The newly renamed Agua Caliente Casino Palm Springs (formerly the Spa Resort Casino) will host the two bands at a “Concert Under the Palms” show that will also have a DJ entertaining starting at 5 pm.

Ja Rule and Ashanti | April 6

The pair has teamed up for several chart-toppers including “Mesmerize,” “Down 4 You,” “Happy,” “Wonderful” and the Grammy-nominated, “Always On Time,” and now they are pairing up again for a show at Fantasy Springs.  Tickets start at $39.

CountryFest at LQBC | April 6

For those who just can’t wait until the end of the month to get their yee haw fix, La Quinta Brewing has just the thing for you.  The event runs from 2 to 9 and includes a performance by Leaving Austin and Rick Shelly plus BBQ, games, and, of course, craft beer.

Desert X | Through April 21

The free Desert X art experience wraps up in April, meaning it’s your last chance to check out all the cool installations  all around the Coachella Valley from Palm Springs to Palm Desert to Desert Hot Springs to Indio to the Salton Sea and all spots in between.

Coachella | April 12 – 14 & April 19 – 21

Perhaps you have heard of this tiny, tiny event that takes place in Indio?  Seriously, it’s easy to take the biggest music festival in the world for granted when it happens to take place in your own backyard – but you shouldn’t.  It’s a big deal and not just for the fest, but for everything that comes along with it – from the pool parties to the Neon Carnival to Brandchella.

Chella | April 17

The Goldenvoice event will feature Los Tucanes de Tijuana, Mon Laferte, Cola Boyy and Giselle Woo and the Night Owls.  Tickets are $30.

Stagecoach | April 27 – 29

The country music fest will follow Coachella to round things out at he Empire Polo Club with music, soooooo much drinking, and Mr. Flavor Town is coming back again this year.  New for 2019, an after-party with Diplo.  No seriously.

The White Party | April 26 – 29

It’s the largest gay dance party in the World. The event features DJs, live performances, pool parties and more. This year’s headliner has yet to be announced.

Daniel Tosh | April 26

The comedian and host of Tosh.0 returns to the desert for a stand-up show at Agua Caliente Rancho Mirage. Tickets start at $80.
