I am not sure what the hell happened to January since it feels like it was Christmas yesterday, but here we are, rolling right into February – which has a full slate of events and concerts for you in the Greater Palm Springs Area.

The Broadway show has won a bunch of Tonys and features songs by Cyndi Lauper and a book by Harvey Fierstein. It hits the McCallum Theater for a three-day run. The show is sold out, however, Stub Hub has some tickets available – check them out here.

Swing ‘N Hops – Feb. 3

Well, I know this is going to surprise you, but Palm Desert is holding an event for old people on El Paseo.  Gee, I wonder why the street is always so dead.  On the bright side, the event, which runs 10 am to 4 pm, is free and there will be beer.

Tour de Palm Springs – Feb. 9

Remember when the Tour de Palm Springs was going to be the “Tour de Palm Springs in Palm Desert which is Part of the Coachella Valley in Greater Southern California , USA, World” or something like that?  Well, that didn’t work out, so it’s still in Palm Springs.

Date Fest – Feb. 15- 26

Rides, shows, and deep fried everything, people!  This year has performances by WAR, Chase Rice, Lou Gramm with Foghat, and more.  There’s also bull riding, monster trucks, ostrich races, and donuts bigger than your head.  Tickets are $11 or a dollar off if you buy them in advance.

The Living Desert’s popular nightime series has a family friendly night happening on February 2 and a night featuring tequila on February 16.  Both nights allow you to look at the animals after the sun goes down.  The non-booze night is $45 per person, the tequila night is $58.

Dirty Dancing Feb 16 – 18

“Now i…had…the time of my life…and I owe it all to youuuuuuuuu.”  Yeah, the movie is now a musical and it’s coming to the McCallum Theater for three days.  Tickets will run you $57 to $117.

Rancho Mirage Wine and Food Festival – Feb. 17

Over 50 wineries will be on hand pouring over 200 wines at the inaugural event held at the Rancho Mirage Amphitheater and Community Park.  There’s also going to be live entertainment and plenty of tasty local food.  Tickets run $75, but because you’re an awesome Cactus Hugs reader, you can save $10 per ticket with the code: CACTUS

Greek Fest – Feb. 17 & 18

The annual Palm Desert tradition features greek food, dancing, drinks, and more. It runs Saturday and Sunday from 11 am to 8 pm and will cost you just three bucks to get in.

Loverboy – Feb. 17

Everybody’s working for the weekend and the weekend is when you get to see “Working for the Weekend” performed live by Loverboy.  They’re playing outside of the Spa Resort Casino in downtown Palm Springs with tickets going for $30 and $40.

Ukulele Fest – Feb. 22 – 24

Yeah, I didn’t know there was a Ukulele Fest in the desert, but there is!  And it’s actually kind of a big deal amongst ukulele fans – with tons of performances, workshops, vendors, and more happening at the Palm Springs Hyatt.  Tickets to the events start at $35.
