1 killed in early morning traffic collision in Thermal

A woman is dead after two-vehicle traffic collision in Thermal Friday morning.

The crash happened about 5:30 am just south of the intersection of Airport Boulevard and Harrison Street, according to KESQ. CHP officers told the TV station that the driver of a white sedan admitted to falling asleep and drifting into oncoming traffic.

The sedan collided head-on with a pickup truck. The female driver of the truck was not wearing a seatbelt, according to police, and was thrown from the wreckage and died at the scene.

Two passengers in the truck were hospitalized along with the driver of the sedan.
