The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department is investigating a double shooting that left one injured and one dead in Yucca Valley Monday morning.

Nicholas Shine, 20, of Yucca Valley showed up at a USA gas station about 1:30 am and told the clerk he had been shot, according to Z107.7. Shine was transported to Desert Hospital and was treated in intensive care. There was no word on his current condition.

Authorities investigated and searched the area near the America’s Best Value Inn and Suites and the movie theater where they discovered the body of Tymmothy Mosley, who had been shot and killed.

As the Hi Desert Star notes, a statement from investigators calls the hotel “the scene of the shooting,” but police did not confirm that both Mosley and Shine were shot there, or that they shot each other.

The news release calls Shine an “involved party” and Mosley a victim.

Police are investigating.
