(San Bernardino Co. Sheriff's Department)

A 24-year-old woman was arrested just hours after being released from jail for carjacking.

Monique Cadena, 24, was released from the West Valley Detention Center in Rancho Cucamonga at 5:10 pm Wednesday evening. She was arrested about 10:30 am Wednesday for being under the influence of drugs, reports the Press Enterprise.

While trying to get a ride, Cadena saw an elderly woman in a 2004 Hyundai Sonata who was waiting for a family member. Police say that Cadena got into the Hyundai and drove away with the woman still in it, dropping her off at a gas station a short distance away. She was not harmed, notes KTLA.

Police found Cadena about 10pm in the stolen car in Fontana. She was arrested for carjacking and kidnapping.
