Palm Springs Police are searching for a teenager who unsuccessfully attempted not one, but two carjackings in Palm Springs Sunday morning.

The events started just after 7:30am, according to the cops.

Here is how it all went down, according to The Desert Sun:

A resident reported a suspicious person was loitering near the 2400 block of Linden Way and he may have had a gun. As officers responded, they got another call from someone reporting he was in his garage when he was approached by a boy with a handgun.

He demanded the homeowner’s money and vehicle, but the victim refused and ran inside the home, according to police.

Shortly after, officers got another call from a motorist who was approached by an armed juvenile in the 4700 block of Eagle Way. He demanded she get out of her vehicle and she immediately drove away, according to police.

Police searched the area but did not find the suspect.  Hopefully, he has learned that carjacking is not really his thing and has moved on to something else…that is legal.

KESQ describes the suspect as a black teenager.   They ask anyone with info to call Crime Stoppers at (760) 341-7867.
