A strange odor wafted into the noses of students and staff at Coachella Valley High School Tuesday morning causing over two dozen people to feel ill.

A hazmat team was called to the school and a total of 28 students and staff members were evaluated, reports the Desert Sun.  None of the students were hospitalized, but KESQ reports that 2 staff members drove themselves to the hospital.

Authorities traced the smell to an organic herbicide being used in the landscaping, reports Palm Desert Patch.
