The Riverside County Sheriff’s Department is investigating after video of a woman being taken down by a deputy was posted to Twitter and retweeted over 10,000 times.

The incident took place outside the Perris High School graduation ceremony on June 6, reports the Press Enterprise.

“You are hurting me,” the woman, who police identified as Juanita Mendez-Medrano of Fontana, says as the deputy takes her down. “Why do you treat us this way?”

The Sheriff’s Department told the newspaper that Mendez-Medrano had been selling flowers outside the venue without a permit. The department also claims she refused to cooperate, gave a fake name, and pushed the deputy who held her arm to prevent her from fleeing.

“The short, publicly produced video does not have the full context or content of the incident,” the department said in a statement.
