The San Bernardino Sheriff’s Department announced they are investigating a potential assault this weekend at the Joshua Tree Music Fest in which a 12-year old boy was reportedly strangled and body slammed.

The incident occurred during the annual music fest, held at the Joshua Tree Lake Campground, reports Z107.7:

According to a Sheriff’s report, a mother brought her 12-year-old son to Hi-Desert Medical Center about 8 p.m. Saturday night. The mother said her son was strangled and body slammed by a man, identified as being a white man, 40 to 50 years old, after the boy removed the man’s hat from his head.

The boy suffered a broken nose and minor cuts.  The Sheriff’s Department is asking anyone with information to call 760-366-4175.
