Construction worker attacked with pickaxe in Palm Springs

A construction worker was hospitalized after being attacked by a man with a pickaxe in Palm Springs.

The man had been involved some sort of altercation with another man on Celestial Way in Palm Springs, according to KESQ. At some point the other man struck the victim in the head and face three times with a pickaxe.

The suspect was taken into custody by Palm Springs Police.

There is no word on the extent of the victim’s injuries – but, according to the Desert Sun, he is expected to survive.

Update: KMIR reports that police arrested 22-year-old Juan Hernandez of Wilmington.  He is facing attempted murder charges.
